‘STUPID’: Trump Slams Reporter For Question About In Pete Hegseth
In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump criticized ABC News correspondent Terry Moran for posing what he deemed a “stupid” question regarding his confidence in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The exchange occurred during a prime-time interview marking Trump’s 100th day in office.
When asked about discussions with Hegseth, who has faced scrutiny for using encrypted messaging apps for official business, Trump responded, “I had a talk with him, and whatever I said, I probably wouldn’t be inclined to tell you, but we had a good talk.”
He praised Hegseth as “a talented guy, he’s young, he’s smart, highly educated, and I think he’s gonna be a very good defense secretary.”
However, when Moran pressed further, asking if Trump had “100% confidence” in Hegseth, Trump retorted, “I don’t have 100% confidence in anything, okay? Anything. It’s a stupid question.” He added, “Only a liar would say I have 100% confidence.”
The interview also touched on Trump’s interactions with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer during an event at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Trump unexpectedly called Whitmer to the podium, praising her efforts to save the facility, stating, “She came to see me. That’s the reason she came to see me, by the way, to save Selfridge. She was very effective.” Whitmer, appearing surprised, addressed the audience briefly, expressing her support for the military personnel present.
This incident underscores the ongoing tensions and dynamics within the current administration and highlights the scrutiny faced by officials like Hegseth.
As discussions about national security and leadership continue, the Department of Justice remains a pivotal institution in upholding the nation’s legal and ethical standards.
